Boopsie is a wild ghost from the bizarro family.[note 1]

In "Boopsie", it was awakened from its nest after Marlo accidentally caused his skateboard to knock the traffic cone into the sewers.

Appearance[]

Kawai mode[]

Boopsie is a white ghost with yellow eyes and black scleras. It has a pair of large eyebrows, two upper fangs, a purple tongue, and seven limbs. It also has a large purple marking on its head and two pink blushes on its cheeks.

Booster mode[]

When in booster mode, Boopsie gains two large purple ear-like markings on the sides of its head. It has a jester-like collar with five button-like markings on each side. Underneath it is a long, stretchy arm with four fingers allowing Boopsie to flick its marking onto its targets.

History[]

Bridge episodes[]

At an unknown point, Boopsie found a traffic cone and began using it as a nest. In "Boopsie", the traffic cone was placed on the sidewalk of West 59th Street to let the pedestrians know that a sewer manhole was being left opened because the workers were cleaning up the system. While Mark was helping Anwar with moving a large number of vases to the back of their delivery truck, he bumped into the traffic cone and made it pushed slightly near the open hatch. Later, Marlo was riding on his skateboard to the NYC school when he almost crashed into Mark who was carrying a vase. He was so startled by the deliveryman that he fell off his skateboard and caused it to knock the traffic cone into the sewers.

Shortly after Boopsie was awakened, it flew out of the sewers and hid behind a mailbox on the sidewalk. It fired a marking at the back of his shirt, making Mark more clumsy than he normally was, allowing the ghost to ingest his screams. The ghost then headed east to the school where it noticed Mike Collins was holding his physics presentation papers in front of Andy Baker who was tossing a mustard bottle. Seeing this as another prank opportunity, Boopsie spitted out a marking at the back hem of Andy's shirt before he could catch the bottle. This resulted in Andy accidentally squirting mustard onto Mike's presentation papers and when he tried to clean it off, a tussle between him and Mike caused the papers to land in the middle of the street and got run over by two passing cars. Boopsie then appeared in front of the school and scared everyone away before it made Bobby clumsy too.

Later, Boopsie terrorized many people in Manhattan with its clumsy inducement powers before it eventually ingested enough screams to enter booster mode. The Ghostforce arrived at the scene to try taking Boopsie down, but because Fury wanted to assist his teammates despite his marking, they all ended up getting marked by the ghost after the four heroes got themselves trapped in Fury's flexible slime. It then left East 57th Street after watching the Ghostforce unable to use their powers and weapons to fight it back, which had also caused Glowboo to shut down.

Boopsie was at Times Square when the Ghostforce arrived after Krush figured out how they could defeat it with their markings; the heroes must reverse their normal tactics by turning their clumsiness against the ghost. Myst first fired her spectral arrow backward onto Fury's flexi shield, which had bounced into the air and struck Boopsie on the head. The three kids then fired their attacks up in the air, creating a domino effect where Fury launched himself up with his flexible slime and landed on top of Boopsie before dragging Krush towards the ghost and allowing him to stun it with fractal ice. Krush then released Growmax and deboosted Boopsie to its kawai mode before capturing it, restoring everyone's dexterity in the borough. Boopsie was later sent to the Ghost Cloud where it now resides with the other captive ghosts.

Abilities[]

  • Levitation: Boopsie can levitate in both its kawai and booster modes.
  • Intangibility: Boopsie can phase through solid objects. The only exceptions are when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.

Boopsie can create a three-dotted triangular marking to target sentient beings and make them clumsy. This can affect not only humans and animals but also artificial intelligence like Glowboo.

Trivia[]

  • Boopsie's name is a portmanteau of the English words "boo-boo" and "oopsie", both are childish injections to acknowledge a mistake being made.
  • In the French version, the ghost's name is Boolette. Its name is a pun on the French word "bouette" with one of the meanings being "boo-boo".
  • Boopsie's nest being a traffic cone alludes to the fact that the cones are used as warnings to drivers and pedestrians about an unsafe area that they should avoid to prevent the risk of an accident.
  • Ironically, Boopsie's awakening was the result of Marlo being clumsy and falling off his skateboard after almost crashing into Mark.
  • The three-dotted triangular markings are based on the therefore sign that is often used in mathematics to indicate a logical consequence. This reflects Boopsie's ability to make its targets become clumsy and make minor mistakes no matter what they do, so the only way to defeat the ghost is to create the opposite effect.
  • Boopsie and Mikroo from the comics are the only ghosts whose powers have affected all four current members within the second iteration of the Ghostforce during their attacks.
