“ | It's a Level 5 Breathrill. Watch out. It blows more wind than me on chili night. You should neutralize the source of its blow. | ” |
Breathrill is a Level 5 wild ghost from the spectral family.
In "Graffurious", it was awakened from its nest after a Creepy Ghost employee turned on the desk fan during a hot day. It later merged with a spray paint can and briefly became Graffurious.
Appearance[]
Kawai mode[]
Breathrill is a yellow ghost with a lighter yellow underbelly. It has a rounded body, yellow eyes, black scleras, two tiny flippers, a yellow tongue, and four white fangs. It has black tips on its flippers and a large nozzle on top of its head.
As Graffurious[]
Upon merging with a spray paint can, the ghost's physical appearance changed so it could resemble its receptacle. The white valve cap became its face, but the ghost gained a pair of arms that ended with a nozzle. Its body and hands have labels with an artwork resembling the one from the NYC Dunk.
History[]
Season 1[]

At an unknown point, Breathrill found an old desk fan and started using it as a nest. In "Graffurious", a Creepy Ghost employee grabbed the fan from the supply room so she could use it to cool herself down on a hot day. However, after plugging the fan into an outlet and turning it on, she unintentionally awakened Breathrill who immediately attacked everyone in the office. The ghost then escaped the building and presumably created a large breeze that blew Mr. Vladovsky and his umbrella away while he was chaperoning Professor Pascal's class.

Breathrill later arrived at the Kasenti Tower, where the class happened to be there for their field trip, and scared various people away with its powers. It had consumed enough fear that it was about to find an object to merge with. Officer Callaghan, wanting to be seen as a "hero", sprayed Breathrill with a spray paint can because he thought it would scare the ghost away. Breathrill was instead bewildered by the mist before noticing that it came out from the container. So, the ghost immediately merged with it and became Graffurious.

With its newfound ability to spout paint from its nozzles, Graffurious left the Kasenti Tower and began terrorizing the city. It had covered parts of the streets in coats of paint when the Ghostforce suddenly arrived to take it down. Fury managed to plug its head nozzle with his flexible slime after Graffurious dodged Myst's incoming spectral arrow. This angered the ghost that it fired green paint at the kids with its left hand, forcing Myst to quickly open a spectral gate to shove both Fury and Krush away. She wasn't fast enough to dodge the mist, though, and her armor ended up getting covered in green paint. When Fury was later talking to Myst at 5th Avenue, his armor was covered in pink paint by Graffurious before the latter escaped to the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Ghostforce all arrived at the bridge and continued their fight with Graffurious. The ghost, at one point, sprayed a coat of yellow paint onto Krush's armor before it was chased by Fury and Glowboo. It was about to get away for the second time, but Myst opened a spectral gate for Glowboo to appear in front of Graffurious and blinded it with his plasma screen. Graffurious landed on the bridge where Krush trapped it with his fractal ice before Fury covered the ghost's hand nozzles with his flexible slime. This stunned Graffurious that Myst released Octocat and deboosted it to its kawai mode before capturing it, causing all the paint it created to disappear in Manhattan. Breathrill was later sent to the Ghost Cloud where it now resides with the other captive ghosts.
While Breathrill wasn't directly mentioned in "Piraniak", Miss Jones was inspired by its merged form that she build a gadget known as the Ghost Painter and used the ghost's Boo Energy to fuel it.[note 1]
Abilities[]
- Levitation: Breathrill can levitate in both its kawai and booster modes.
- Intangibility: Breathrill can phase through solid objects. The only exceptions are when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.
- Possession: As a merger ghost, Breathrill can gain additional powers by possessing objects. The only receptacle it was seen merged with was a spray paint can.
Breathrill can summon a large gust of wind from the nozzle on its head. When it possesses a spray paint can, Graffurious can create an aerosol mist of paint particles in a wide range of colors.

Trivia[]
- Breathrill's name is a portmanteau of the English words "breath" and "thrill", referring to its ability to create a large gust of wind that can blow people away.
- Graffurious's name is a portmanteau of "graffiti" and "furious".
- Officer Callaghan had called Breathrill a "boy" at one point, not knowing that ghosts are genderless.
- Breathrill and Xhypno are the only ghosts with powers related to wind.
- Breathrill and Sharkoak have similar physical appearances in their kawai modes. Since they are both members of the spectral family, their specimens seem to be closely related despite having different powers.

- ↑ Breathrill was only mentioned in the French dub of the episode "Piraniak" when Miss Jones explained the Ghost Painter to the three kids: "Je voulais m'amuser un peu alors j'ai essayé de fabriquer un nouveau gadget avec L'énergie Boo de Graffurious".
