Ghostforce Wiki

Carla is a recurring character of Ghostforce. She is a student in Professor Pascal's class at the NYC school located in Manhattan, New York City.

Appearance[]

Carla is an average-height preteen girl with light blue eyes, black eyebrows, and presumably dyed teal hair. Her hair is tied in a low ponytail with a magenta hair tie. She wears black horn-rimmed glasses that are a bit oversized. She also has a teal wristband, a brown cuff bracelet, and a bracelet with yellow and pink beads.

She wears a white shirt with a colorful circle design with teal, purple, pink, and yellow outlines. A brown rope belt is tied around the waist of her shirt. She also wears light blue denim shorts, pink knee-length tights, and white socks with pale blue and pink stripes. Her shoes are light pink with white soles, white toe tips, white shoelaces, and a light pink mid-stripe.

Personality[]

Hypnolion (11)

Carla is a sweet, but quirky preteen girl. She has an eccentric way of thinking about the world around her, believing in ancient legends and the existence of extraterrestrial life. This leads to everyone seeing her as strange and not always taking her words seriously. Carla doesn't seem to mind being judged, though, because she has an optimistic and happy-go-lucky attitude. She sees the best in people and is friendly towards almost everyone she meets, especially those who are openly mean to her.

Piraniak 011

She is interested in learning about the paranormal and often hunts for treasures with her bizarro detector. However, her curiosity often leads to her detriment because there are a few cases where she unexpectedly awakened a ghost from its nest. For example, she found an 18th-century chest buried near a tree at Central Park and suggested to her classmates that they should all release the "master of fears" together, none of them knowing that the chest is Grump King's nest until it's too late. That said, she is fully aware of how dangerous ghosts can be and immediately runs away in panic every time she encounters one.

Relationships[]

Charlie[]

Biballoon 013

Carla is close friends with Charlie since they sit next to each other in Professor Pascal's class and would often hang out with each other. In "Troublestretch", Carla participated in Charlie's Ghostforce quiz at Central Park along with Andy and Rajat. She even operated Charlie's phone in "Mascarade" for the latter's live-stream at the Ghost Dog. Carla seems to be aware of her friend's crush on Mike since she was visibly happy when Charlie decided to dance with him in "Creepop".

Piraniak 013

On some occasions, Carla would help Charlie with providing more content for the Ghost Blog because they both share the same fascination with the paranormal. In "Piraniak", both girls visited the Brooklyn Bridge to search for anything supernatural with the bizarro detector before school. They both found a treasure chest floating at East River and curiously wanted to see what was inside. However, they learned too late that the chest was a nest for Piraniak and were hypnotized into collecting gold for it.

Andy Baker[]

Sandyrok 054

Carla gets along positively with Andy but it's completely uncertain if she is aware of his crush on her and reciprocates his feelings. She accepted Andy's offer to go with him to the fair in "Trashotic" despite wrongfully assuming that it'll take years for the fair to be cleaned after Trashotic's attack. In "Agia", Carla was also a guest at Andy's surprise birthday party and laughed in amusement when he was having trouble blowing out a trick candle. While not exactly a date, she eventually went to the fair with Andy in "Sandyrok" because she was invited to join him and the rest of the Baker family.

Prehistorrible 283

"Prehistorrible" revealed that Andy will always make promises for Carla, but she reminded him that he wasn't great at keeping them. So, when she suddenly remembered that the creator of her favorite comic book was giving a signing session that was about to end, she was unsure if Andy would be able to make it to the Z Heroes Comic Books in time. She was later proven wrong when Andy returned a few minutes past noon that she happily kissed him on the cheek to show her gratitude.

They later both went to the Central Park Renaissance Fair with Charlie and Mike in "Jellyjack". There, she learned that Andy also saw Jack the Dragon Knight after he recognized a replica of Jack's costume that she complimented on his taste in movies.

Liv Baker[]

Arakgum 020

Carla considers Liv to be a great friend because she admires her positive attitude and frankness. In "Mastaar", Carla was visibly worried about Liv when she witnessed her suffering from stage fright and unable to perform for the Boo Fighters at the talent show. Following Mastaar's capture by the Ghostforce, Carla cheered for Liv after the latter gained confidence in playing for the audience. In "Troublestretch", Carla was the only one in Andy's team to cheer for Liv because the latter correctly answered nearly all the questions in Charlie's Ghostforce quiz despite both girls competing against each other. She was also one of a few classmates who didn't laugh at Liv in "Ninja Ki" because she understood that Liv was having a bad day.

Agia 039

Despite looking up to her strong personality, Carla doesn't like how Liv often hurts people's feelings because of her bluntness. For example, in "Agia", Carla was visibly shocked that Liv offended Andy on his birthday by mentioning that the Fury action figure he got as a present was for anyone over the age of five and indirectly calling him childish for playing it. In "Tortress", both girls participated in the Central Park scavenger hunt as partners. However, Carla was upset with Liv wanting to win the game because the latter quickly solved all the clues before her. Carla later forgave Liv after she admitted her mistake and agreed to start all over again so they could play for fun.

Carla is unaware that Liv is secretly Myst, but she nonetheless appreciates the Ghostforce for saving New York City from the ghost attacks. As revealed in "Biballoon", she likes Myst because of her style. She also finds Myst's ghost Octocat to be adorable because it is tamed to not harm anyone, unlike the wild ghosts.

Mike Collins[]

Turbokorn 041

Carla initially doesn't know Mike very well because he's always with Andy and Liv. She does recognize him as the son of Michael Collins and was once fascinated with the Clipit smartwatch he wore to class in "Chronoklok". She is often worried about him whenever she witnesses him being picked on by Drake for being the youngest student in the class and not a basketball player like his father.

Meta&Lix 034

Their friendship was eventually formed in "Meta&Lix" when they were partners for a morning assignment Professor Pascal assigned to them. Carla brought her new metal detector to the NYC Dunk and revealed to Mike that she was having trouble detecting treasures around the borough. She let him tweak the device and the two briefly talked about each other's interests before Meta's attack. It's heavily implied after the event of the episode that Mike continued upgrading the metal detector and eventually evolved it into a bizarro detector for Carla to search for paranormal anomalies.

Since then, Carla and Mike would sometimes hang out with each other. In "Turbokorn", they both visited the American Museum of Natural History for a life-sized exhibition. They later went to the Central Park Renaissance Fair with Charlie and Andy in "Jellyjack".

In "Boopsie", she was the only student other than Andy and Liv who didn't laugh at Mike after witnessing his presentation notebook being accidentally destroyed.

Marlo[]

Sharkoak 016

Marlo is one of Carla's friends. She was willing to help him choose a flower bouquet for his mother's birthday gift in "Sharkoak" because she was aware of how self-conscious he was. They initially promised that they must meet outside at the back of the school building so she could give him the bouquet without anyone seeing. However, she changed her mind at the last minute and instead gave it to him in the hallways because she wanted the flowers to be kept warm. This decision indirectly resulted in a misunderstanding between Marlo and Liv after he accidentally placed the flower inside her locker instead of his.

In "Creepop", Carla watched Marlo dancing at the front entrance of the school before the ghost merged with his boombox.

Rajat[]

Mascarade 025

Carla and Rajat are barely seen interacting with each other, but it's implied that they are friends. In "Troublestretch", they were both on the same team for Charlie's Ghostforce quiz. Carla was impressed by Rajat's knowledge of hot dogs in "Mascarade" and even suggested the Ghost Blog should do a whole story about him.

Drake Miller and Bobby[]

Vochaos 244

Carla has a neutral relationship with both Drake and Bobby because she doesn't like seeing them bullying their classmates.

In "Mikroo", she laughed at Andy's taunting towards Drake after the latter was given a ballerina figurine to represent himself in Mike's classroom diorama.

In "Vochaos", Carla was confused when Bobby suddenly had a voice break and even attempted to flirt with her by claiming that he was always a poet. She was briefly seen smiling in relief when his voice was restored to its regular tone after the titular ghost was captured by the Ghostforce.

Stacy and Jane[]

While Carla is never seen directly interacting with the twins, the official Ghostforce website mentions that she sees them as her friends despite their meanness.

Mr. Vladovsky[]

Graffurious 021

Carla is wary of Mr. Vladovsky and tries to avoid getting herself in trouble with him. She once tried to spark a friendly conversation with the principal while the class was on a field trip to the Kasenti Tower in "Graffurious", but he dismissed her and demanded she get back in line with the rest of the students.

Trivia[]

  • The official website described Carla's eccentric personality as being similar to Phoebe Buffay from Friends.
  • Carla's belief in the existence of extraterrestrial life isn't far-fetched since "Chaorion" revealed that ghosts originated from planet(s) lightyears away from Earth.
  • There are several instances in the series where Carla mentioned something related to extraterrestrial entities:
    • She believes the sun is a giant lightbulb in the sky that was placed by Martians.
    • She has a cousin who once claimed to have beamed into a real flying saucer, though it's likely he was only pranking her.
    • She believes in Mama Killa, an Incan lunar deity, and once performed a chant to get the clouds to stop blocking the full moon.
    • She once mistook her hairdryer for an alien laser beam.
  • In both "Arakgum" and "Gumglue", Carla is shown to not be scared of spiders. After Mike secretly caused a cluster of spiders to escape from their terrarium in the latter episode, she was seen helping them get back inside.
  • Carla seems to be talented at basketball since she was one of the participants in the Dragon Venom launch campaign in "Scream Scratch".
  • "Piraniak" revealed that Carla went to a lockpicking summer camp.
  • As revealed in "Hypnolion", Carla was already preparing for prom despite being a middle schooler. She even mentioned owning a feathered prom dress.
  • Because Carla wasn't with her classmates when they revealed their worst fear in "Grump King", it is currently unknown what she is terrified of.
