Drake Miller is a major recurring character of Ghostforce. He is a student in Professor Pascal's class at the NYC school located in Manhattan, New York City. He is also the rival of Andy Baker.

Appearance[]

Drake is an average-height Brazilian-American preteen boy with light brown/tan skin, blue eyes, and black hair styled in a spiked afro.

He wears a black shirt with a yellow three-dotted triangle, black drawstring shorts with white strings, another pair of black trousers underneath, and black leggings with gray lines. The sleeves of his shirt are sewn with blue threads. His shoes are completely white and have a white star on the side. He also has a brown bracelet on his right wrist.

For more of Drake's outfits and designs, see Drake Miller/Designs.

Personality[]

Mascarade 068

Drake being smug while spinning a basketball.

Drake is a prideful, arrogant, and overconfident star of the school's basketball team. He thinks highly of himself and would openly insult those he looks down upon, particularly Mike and the Baker siblings, but especially his rival Andy. He is also very bossy and rude, ordering his best friend Bobby around and not showing much respect towards his peers. However, he appears never to put down anyone else since he is only mean towards his three classmates, such as disregarding Mike's true self for being different from his father Michael Collins (whom Drake idolizes) or mocking Andy to get him to lose his confidence as a gifted basketball player.

Dunky Boss 103

Drake envious of Andy for being in the lead of a junior dunking competition.

He likes to be the center of attention by his peers and gets easily jealous whenever he sees one of his classmates upstage him. He is very competitive and enjoys challenging himself, as seen in "Mascarade" where he chose a random classmate to be his temporary "new rival" after Andy declined his offer for a one-on-one match after school. However, he seems to be impatient and does not consider facts before setting up a challenge, having once declared a "veggie face-off" in "Scaregrow" despite Mike pointing out that it'll take time for his plant to grow. It is implied in "Piraniak" that Drake comes from a rich family since he owns a Powergold, an expensive smartphone product, and once flaunted it to his classmates on the same day of its launch, even acting like a snob towards Andy by stating that he's "not worthy" of touching it.

Although he doesn't want to admit it, Drake can be very cowardly and would run away whenever he sees a ghost. He was one of the only students who didn't reveal their worst fear in "Grump King", likely because of his pride and not wanting anyone to make fun of him for it, so he was dismayed when Bobby confessed it for him instead. When he wrongfully assumed Andy was afraid of ghosts, Drake hypocritically teased his rival so he could feel better about himself, only to prove his classmates wrong by leaping into Bobby's arms after Andy willingly opened a mysterious chest containing the "master of fears" to intentionally spooked him.

Graffurious 220

Drake worrying about Bobby after the latter was caught graffiting the Brooklyn Bridge.

Despite his attitude towards his classmates, "Graffurious" shows that Drake has standards and doesn't like taking things too far to get what he wants. He dreams of becoming a great basketball player and has his picture featured for all to see. However, he was visibly appalled upon learning there was a vandalizer creating graffiti artwork of him around Manhattan. Even though he had falsely accused Liv of the crime because he was scared of getting arrested by Officer Callaghan, he later regretted it and apologized to her for his selfish actions, even accepting her apology for doing a similar thing. The incident not only demonstrated that he can be remorseful and admit his fault if he realizes what he does is wrong, but he can be somewhat forgiving towards others for their mistakes. He is also loyal to his friendship with Bobby, having shown genuine concern when he found out he was the graffiti artist, and upon being confronted by Myst, Drake was willing to take the blame and get himself arrested to protect his friend. His actions further prove that although he is still arrogant, he doesn't always think about himself and, deep down, cares about others, having shown sympathy towards Bobby when the latter was punished and deciding to help him clean up his messes at the end of the episode.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

Not much information is known about Drake's past, but it implies that he had a rich upbringing.[note 1] When he started attending his first year at the NYC school, he became a popular student in class for being the uncontested star of the basketball team.[3]

Season 1[]

While the events of "Origins" haven't been revealed yet, Drake eventually met the three kids — Andy Baker, Liv Baker, and Mike Collins — on the first day of the new school year. He becomes jealous of Andy for being a gifted basketball player that they are now bitter rivals where they would constantly competing for the spot as the captain of the school's basketball team. He also presumably befriended his classmate Bobby, who is a huge fan of Drake, during that time so he could make fun of Andy.

Bananice (14)

In "Bananice", Drake had a one-on-one basketball match against Andy at the NYC Dunk and didn't take well that he lost to seven points. He declared to his rival that they were going to have a rematch after class, and when he realized that Andy had taken his basketball, he angrily demanded his rival give it back to him at the school. Andy complied and intentionally missed his aim by throwing the ball further away for Drake and Bobby to get it back, causing the two boys to be late for class. Drake went to the alleyway and retrieved the ball, but he stood so close to Freezofear's nest that he suddenly got attacked by the ghost who froze his entire body into ice. He later got thawed by Liv after Bobby brought him inside the classroom, but when everyone noticed the ghost had attacked Rajat, he and the rest of the class all evacuated the school to get to safety. After Freezofear was caught by the Ghostforce, Drake and Andy went to the NYC Dunk for their rematch.

Mizuo 071

In "Mizuo", Drake was playing basketball with his classmates at the NYC Dunk when he overheard Mike giving Andy a ticket to the basketball finals that the New York Dragons were going to play. He became jealous about it because he wanted to see his idol Michael Collins, so he challenged Andy to a one-on-one match where the winner would attend the finals with Mike, which his rival happily accepted. When neither of them missed a single basket at the NYC Dunk, the entire class went to a building across the street to try to end the stalemate. However, much to Drake's chagrins, Andy managed to score a basket out of pure luck after the ball bounced off a seagull. Despite Mizuo being suddenly awakened nearby and interrupting his turn, Drake still refused to give up the challenge, so he and Bobby both stayed inside the building while everyone else evacuated from the ghost.

Mizuo 311

After checking to see if Mizuo wasn't there, Drake bravely got back onto the rooftop to try scoring the basket without an audience and having Bobby as his witness. He managed to successfully do it, but he was startled when a Mizuo clone suddenly appeared behind him and was about to get attacked by it. Drake was rescued by Fury who used his flexible slime to drag him to where Myst and Krush were. After Fury explained to everyone his plan on how to defeat Mizuo, Drake helped the Ghostforce by throwing his ball towards the ghost and blocking its cannon. He later shared his story with his classmates at the NYC Dunk and was surprised when Andy willingly gave him the ticket. However, when Mike gave Andy his ticket and suggested he and Drake should go together, the two rivals suddenly argued over who was likely to keep the most cool and they obliviously didn't notice Mike and Liv both stole their tickets to attend the finals together.

Cyclopee 050

In "Cyclopee", Drake was forced to stay after school and clean up Mr. Vladovsky's office as punishment for littering in the corridor. He noticed a basketball in the office and decided to throw it at one of Mr. Vladovsky's self-portraits to express his hatred for him. However, he accidentally shattered the glass of a mirror which turned out to be a nest belonging to Cyclopee. Drake huddled with a nearby skeleton decoration after Cyclopee startled him, but the skeleton itself freaked him out that he tried to leave the office. Cyclopee used its duplication powers and created multiple clones of the skeleton in front of him, causing him to scream even more as he buried underneath the pile. Despite the Ghostforce later capturing Cyclopee and the clones disappearing, Drake was still punished for not cleaning up the office. Since then, he has developed an immense fear of skeletons and told Bobby about the incident.

Graffurious 044

In "Graffurious", Drake and his classmates went on a field trip to the Kasenti Tower with Mr. Vladovsky as their chaperone. When the principal was blown away by a sudden large gust of wind on their way, Drake bragged to his classmates that the KassKorp Industry would likely recognize him as "the greatest basketball of all time" and that someday his picture is "going to be all over New York City". Mike and the Baker siblings were about to dismiss his ego, but upon their arrival at their destination, the class didn't expect the Kasenti Tower to have a graffiti artwork of Drake at the front door. He wrongfully assumed that the company's employees were the ones creating it and pridefully asked his classmates for an autograph. However, when Mr. Vladovsky finally caught up with the students, Drake was horrified when he was informed that the graffiti was an act of vandalism, and Officer Callaghan instantly arrived at the scene. He was too scared to tell the lieutenant that he didn't vandalize the building, so when they both noticed Liv was holding a spray can, he quickly accused her of the crime and claimed that he wasn't involved in it.

Graffurious 235

Despite being interrupted by Graffurious's attack, Drake quickly stole a bike and left the tower so he could try finding the real culprit. He noticed a second graffiti artwork while he was at 5th Avenue, but when Myst suddenly arrived and began interrogating him, he once again claimed Liv had done it. What he didn't expect was Myst to be angry at him and accuse him of lying, causing him to realize that the superheroine somehow figured out that Liv was innocent and assumed he was the vandalizer. So, he rode his bike away from Myst and headed to the Brooklyn Bridge where he eventually learned that the graffiti artist was Bobby. When Myst caught him red-handed, Drake quickly took the blame to protect his friend and told her to arrest him instead. He was glad that she understood what he was doing, but he began to feel guilty for accusing Liv earlier and agreed that it wasn't cool for him to do it. After the two boys headed back to the Kasenti Tower via Myst's spectral gate, Bobby confessed his crime to Callaghan and was punished by scrubbing off all the artwork around the borough. Drake, feeling bad for his friend, decided to help him, but not without apologizing to Liv for his actions and even forgiving her for doing a similar thing.

Piraniak 038

In "Piraniak", Drake was given a then-recently released Powergold on his birthday from his father. He was about to show it off to his classmates at the front entrance of school when Andy arrived and suddenly let out a loud outburst. Drake quickly realized that Andy was jealous and trying to get his hands on his Powergold after excusing himself that his phone was "drained", so he mocked his rival for not being worthy of touching it before taking a picture of him being startled by the camera's flash. Drake and Bobby later went to 5th Avenue to test out the phone's burst mode and began taking selfies with the Ghostforce. However, they were suddenly attacked by Piraniak who hypnotized them into collecting gold for it, causing Drake to surrender his Powergold. He later got his phone back after Piraniak was captured.

Specials[]

In "Grump King", Drake went to the NYC Dunk for another one-on-one match against Andy and won by fifteen points. He was about to celebrate his victory with Bobby cheering for him, but Mike and Liv then arrived with a tray full of Halloweeners for everyone to eat. He quickly noticed Andy whimpering in fear upon being told that Roland's entire sausage stock was eaten by sewer rats, so Drake teased him about it and didn't believe him when he claimed that he was "not afraid of anything". When Carla arrived with a mysterious old chest and suggested to their classmates that they should release the "master of fears" later that night, Drake agreed to the idea and dared his rival to let it out, to which Andy accepted the challenge. However, the kids didn't expect the chest to be a nest belonging to Grump King, so when the ghost was awakened and began scaring everyone on the rooftop of the Baker residence, Drake was carried away by Bobby while they both evacuated the apartment with the rest of their classmates.

Bridge episodes[]

In "Cactinetik", Drake and Andy have a feud that started after the former insulted his rival in front of the entire class for having a bad grade in math, but their shared motivation to retaliate against each other ended up creating a perpetual cycle. Just when he and Bobby were about to settle down in the classroom, they quickly dodged an incoming bag of flour that was thrown by Andy as an act of revenge for buying Roland's entire hot dog stock earlier that day. Even though their feud was suddenly interrupted by Tinetik's awakening, Drake stayed at the school and initiated his next move by placing the leftover hot dogs inside Andy's locker. However, much to Drake's surprise, Andy restrained his anger and was no longer vengeful towards the prank when he decided to share the hot dogs with the rest of their classmates instead.

Relationships[]

Bobby[]

Bananice (38)

Drake being annoyed by Bobby while he was lightheaded.

Bobby is Drake's "number one fan" and best friend. He knows Bobby is honored to do everything he tells him to do, so he sees him as an "ideal minion" when it comes to his plans to mock Andy ever since the events of "Origins".[3] Drake would constantly boss Bobby around, often with a snap of his fingers, and reprimands him if he says or does something incompetent like showing any support towards his rival. He sometimes treats Bobby like a personal assistant, such as demanding he gets him water before he can shoot a basket in "Mizuo" and making him carry three heavy boxes to the library because Drake didn't want to prep for the school party in "Creepop".

Graffurious 223

Drake protecting Bobby when the latter gets caught.

Despite taking advantage of Bobby's loyalty and being annoyed by his lack of intelligence, "Graffurious" reveals that Drake cares and appreciates him as a friend. He showed genuine concern upon finding out that Bobby was the graffiti artist because the latter wanted to fulfill Drake's wishes of having his picture featured all over New York City. He understood that Bobby didn't know what he had done was illegal and thus didn't berate him for it. Instead, Drake explained that while he liked the graffiti artwork, he wanted Bobby to get rid of them because he was worried that the latter would be in major trouble if anyone caught him in the act. He proved his loyalty by willingly taking the blame when they were confronted by Myst at the Brooklyn Bridge and later helped clean up his messes, further cementing that Drake truly values their friendship. In "Piraniak", they took a few selfie pictures together before they were ambushed by the titular ghost. Drake even drew Bobby in "Cactinetik" despite not being a good artist.

Andy Baker/Fury[]

Scaregrow 053

Drake and Andy doing a "veggie face-off".

While the details of "Origins" haven't been revealed yet, Drake and Andy both met on the first day of the new school year. It is heavily implied that they became rivals because Drake was jealous of Andy for being the second basketball star in the class. Since then, the two would constantly compete for the spot as team captain and Drake wants to do whatever he can to put Andy down. Whenever he notices his rival does something humiliating in front of their peers, he is quick to make fun of him and rarely gets others to laugh at his expense, such as his bad odor in "Trashotic" and not being able to swim in "Vochaos". Because of his animosity, he commonly addresses Andy by his last name "Baker" instead of his first name.

Drake knows Andy would never back down from a challenge, so he is always the first to declare a basketball match at the NYC Dunk where they would play against each other. However, due to Andy being very gifted, Drake doesn't take well for constantly losing against him. On the rare occasions where Drake does indeed win, like in "Katastroph", he would gloat about his victory in front of their classmates. In addition to the one-on-one matches, he would sometimes make him perform dares that have nothing to do with basketballs because he is still determined to be seen as the best. When he overheard Andy talking to Liv that his artichoke would be better than anything Drake could ever grow in "Scaregrow", he took it as a challenge and immediately declared a "veggie face-off" to see who would ultimately have the largest plant.

Despite their rivalry, it is implied that Drake secretly has some level of respect towards Andy. When he was asked to help the Ghostforce by throwing a basketball to cover Mizuo's water cannon in its titular episode, he was worried that he wouldn't be able to do it and briefly told the heroes that they should ask Andy instead. He also seemingly accepted Andy declining his offer for a one-on-one match in "Mascarade" because he chose one of their classmates to be his replacement for a day.

Mizuo 266

Drake being advised by Fury, not knowing he's secretly Andy.

Drake has no idea that his rival is secretly a ghost hunter and once mocked him in "Grump King" for being supposedly afraid of ghosts because he noticed Andy's constant disappearances. Nonetheless, the only time Drake had an on-screen interaction with Fury was in "Mizuo". He was at first disappointed when he wasn't saved by Myst, calling Fury "the green one", but he was willing to take part in the superhero's plan and help the team take down Mizuo and its clones. It implies following the encounter that he starts to slowly appreciate Fury more since a flashback in "Cactinetik" reveals that he once created a drawing of him, albeit it was crudely drawn because of his lack of artistic skills.

Mike Collins/Krush[]

Mikroo 022

Drake bullying Mike.

While the details of "Origins" haven't been revealed yet, Drake met Mike on the first day of school and presumably wanted to befriend him out of interest because the latter is recognized as the son of Michael Collins. However, ever since Mike expresses his true self and reveals he isn't interested in becoming a basketball player, Drake is the only student in the class who refuses to accept him for who he is and continues to refer to him as "Junior", a nickname that Mike despises, instead of his real name.

Drake would show nothing but disrespect towards Mike and often bully him at school. In "Mikroo", he attempted to steal credit for Mike's work and lied to their teacher that they both worked on a classroom diorama together. He later tried forcing Mike into doing his homework for him, but he was tricked into thinking Mike recorded his conversation and threatened that he'd send it to Mr. Vladovsky if Drake ever tries using him again.

Since then, Drake changes his tactic by focusing on Mike's insecurities about being different from his father. In "Chronoklok", he managed to get Mike to suffer from self-doubt upon learning that Mr. Collins gave him a smartwatch that plays pro-tips, believing that it wasn't out of genuine love but to secretly force Mike to pursue basketball like him. He tried making fun of Mike's dancing in "Creepop", but he was frustrated when he overheard his female classmates were all impressed by it instead.

Despite Drake's animosity towards Mike, "Mizuo" shows that he is willing to go to a basketball final with him and seemingly ignore their conflict. It was more likely, however, that Drake's pride and wanting to see Mr. Collins made him decide to challenge Andy to see who the school's top player is and impress Mike enough to give him the ticket to the event.

It's currently unknown what is Drake's perception towards Krush because the only direct interaction between the two was in "Scaregrow" when Krush assumed it was Drake's fault for awakening the titular ghost.

Liv Baker/Myst[]

Mizuo 025

Drake clashing with Liv.

Drake doesn't antagonize Liv much, but he treats her with little respect because she is the younger sister of Andy. He once called her a "guard dog" in "Chronoklok" because he knows the Baker siblings can be protective of Mike. He doesn't show any sympathy towards her whenever she is having a bad day, having called her a "Basic Baker" for her stage fright in "Mastaar" and made fun of an incident regarding her backpack in "Ninja Ki", though he does take aback by her attempting to take out her anger on him.

However, their major conflict occurred in "Graffurious" when Drake accused her of vandalizing the Kasenti Tower without any proof. He was scared to get arrested by Officer Callaghan, so he made a false claim that Liv did it because she had a "major crush" on him, which almost caused her to get into legal trouble with the lieutenant. He later felt remorseful for his actions after a talk with Myst, so he made up for his mistake by sincerely apologizing to Liv while they were helping Bobby get rid of the artwork together.

Mizuo 289

Drake trying to be cool in front of Myst.

Ironically, Drake appears to have a crush on her superhero identity Myst. He briefly flirted with her in "Mizuo" after he successfully threw his basketball towards the titular ghost and Myst came to catch him from falling. In "Graffurious", Drake was confronted by Myst while he was trying to investigate who graffitied multiple buildings around Manhattan. He tried to blame Liv for it, but he became scared when Myst didn't believe him. After he and the Ghostforce discovered Bobby was the graffiti artist, Drake was willing to take the blame when Myst confronted him again. He smiled when she complimented how "sweet" it was for him to be Bobby's good friend, but he knew Myst was right that it wasn't okay to accuse someone innocent of a crime.

Glowboo[]

While Drake doesn't know Glowboo very well, "Scream Scratch" is the only time that they have a brief interaction in the series. In the "Batata" comic story, it's revealed that Drake is a fan of Glowboo and has cosplayed as him for the Z Heroes Comic Book convention.

Stacy[]

Meta&Lix 022

Drake being hugged from behind by Stacy, much to his discomfort.

Drake knows Stacy serves as his cheerleader for every basketball match at the NYC Dunk. Although their interaction isn't shown in-depth, "Meta&Lix" revealed that he doesn't reciprocate her crush on him when they were paired up for Professor Pascal's morning assignment.

Marlo[]

Although Drake is seen talking to Marlo in "Trashotic", they don't get along with each other. In the "Mizuo" comic story, Drake threw his basketball at Marlo, thinking the latter would catch it, and caused him to spill his water bottle.

Professor Pascal[]

Krik-Krok 045

Drake showing Professor Pascal his "plant".

Out of all the students in the class, Drake doesn't hold any high level of respect towards Professor Pascal.

In "Krik-Krok", he took advantage of his teacher's senility by bringing a fake plant to school and successfully tricked him into thinking it's a "fantastic specimen".

In "Chaorion", Drake made fun of Professor Pascal's old age by sarcastically asking if "other dinosaurs" gave him a hand in building his megascope, though he stopped laughing when he became impressed by its features.

Mr. Vladovsky[]

Cyclopee 002

Drake freaked out by Mr. Vladovsky's self-portraits.

Like the rest of his classmates, Drake is scared of Mr. Vladovsky because the principal would impose harsh punishments on anyone breaking the school rules.

In "Mikroo", Drake stopped his attempt to force Mike into doing his homework after the latter tricked him into thinking his conversation was recorded and will be used as blackmail, knowing full well that Mr. Vladovsky will instantly give him weeks of detention if he found out.

In "Cyclopee", he described Mr. Vladovsky as a "creep" for having multiple self-portraits in his office.

Michael Collins[]

Scream Scratch 109

Drake being upset that Mr. Collins pays attention to Andy.

Despite his conflict with Mike, Drake idolizes Michael Collins for being a star basketball player and wants to someday be like him. He would attend events sponsored by the New York Dragons to impress Mr. Collins and be seen as the best junior player in the city. However, much to his chagrins, Drake gets overshadowed by Andy on two occasions featuring a live television broadcast.

In "Scream Scratch", he attended the Dragon Venom launch event at the NYC Dunk but was unable to catch a bottle of the energy drink that was thrown toward the crowd. He later watched enviously as Mr. Collins was impressed by Andy for scoring three baskets in a row.

In "Dunky Boss", he participated in the New York Dragons junior dunking competition at Times Square. He was in the lead at twenty-four but he was ultimately ranked third place after Andy (and later Mike) managed to score more than ninety points.
