“ | Its attacks can be dangerous. Nothing irreversible in its current state. But it must not ingest any solidified, cryogenic protein under any circumstances or its powers will be amplified! Basically, don't let it eat anything frozen. | ” |
—Miss Jones, "Bananice" |
Freezofear is a Level 6 wild ghost from the fractal family.
In "Bananice", it was awakened from its nest after Andy Baker accidentally threw Drake Miller's basketball at the refrigerator. It later ate a Bananice popsicle and briefly became Bananice.
Appearance[]
Kawai form[]
Freezofear's kawai form resembles a white snowball with light blue icicle spikes sticking out from its back. It also has icy-blue eyes, black scleras, a white tongue, four upper fangs, and two bottom fangs.
As Bananice[]
Upon ingesting the popsicle of the name, Bananice resembles a combination of five bananas attached. It has black sclera, icy-blue irises, and two fangs sticking out of its mouth.
Personality[]

Freezofear is a single-minded ghost who greatly dislikes the heat. It wants to avoid being exposed to a strong amount of heat source to prevent its Boo Energy from getting drained, having previously slept inside a refrigerator that it used as a nest. It mainly eats anything with cryogenic proteins to convert them into Boo Energy to allow itself to go into booster mode. However, this can cause the ghost to become more aggressive and dangerous since it wants to use its powers to freeze the entire world. Freezofear has developed a fondness for Bananice popsicles, hence the name of its merged form. During its attack in Manhattan, the ghost was distracted by a Bananice delivery truck and stopped to eat the entire stock before fighting the Ghostforce again.
History[]
Season 1[]

At some point, Freezofear found an abandoned refrigerator in an alleyway near the NYC school and started using it as a nest. In "Bananice", the ghost was suddenly awakened when something hit the left side of the refrigerator. It curiously opened the door and saw that it was a basketball before hiding back inside. Drake Miller then arrived in the alleyway to retrieve said basketball, but he stood so close to the refrigerator that Freezofear assumed he was the one who thrown the basketball and disturbed its slumber. The ghost used its ice-scream attack and froze his body before it left the refrigerator to look for something cold to eat.

The ghost eventually made its way to Professor Pascal's classroom and curiously examined its surroundings. While the room was full of people, what caught its attention was a Bananice popsicle and flew towards it. Freezofear was about to ingest the popsicle, but Andy Baker swiped it away and declared the food to be his. This angered Freezofear and charged toward Andy to attack him, only for the latter to dodge and the ghost accidentally froze Rajat instead.

After nearly the entire class evacuated the school in a panic, Freezofear continued to try eating the popsicle that Andy was holding. Liv Baker then grabbed the ghost's attention by calling it "snowball" and demanding it leave her brother alone. The ghost was suddenly exposed to a strong heat source from the sunlight that was reflected off a magnifying glass Liv was holding. While it was being chased by her who was trying to weaken it, Freezofear noticed that Andy and Mike Collins were being distracted by a phone call with Miss Jones. This allowed the ghost to sneak behind the boys and devoured the entire popsicle before converting it into Boo Energy and becoming Bananice. Now gaining banana-flavored ice breath, Bananice roared at the kids and froze parts of the classroom. Not knowing that the kids safely hid behind a metal cart, the ghost got out of the school to wreak havoc.

Bananice froze the entire West 59th Street and various people who were running away from it. The ghost then noticed the Ghostforce was examining a building that it sneaked behind to ambush them. It watched Fury and Krush arguing with each other and not noticing the ghost until Myst pointed it out. When the kids all finally saw Bananice, the ghost proceeded to chase them around Manhattan. During the fight, Myst opened a spectral gate underneath Bananice and teleported it to another part of the city. The ghost crash-landed in front of a delivery truck and realized there was something cold inside. Bananice curiously opened the back of the vehicle to find it was full of boxes of popsicles, much to the ghost's delight. It lifted the entire truck and ate the entire stock without hesitation.

Now fully capped on Boo Energy, Bananice went to the Empire State Building and launched a bananice-age attack on the entire city. Fury then suddenly appeared in front of it and made a joke about it being a banana-like ghost, provoking it into fighting him. Bananice realized that it was a trick and Fury tied it up around the building's antenna with his flexi slimes. Now trapped, Bananice was weakened by the Ghostforce who exposed it to the sunlight and got deboosted back to Freezofear. It was then captured by Fury, restoring the city to normal. Freezofear was then sent to the Ghost Cloud where it now resides with the other captive ghosts.
In "Scream Scratch", Freezofear's Boo Energy signature was being loaded by Miss Jones for the construction of the Ghost Gauntlet 2.0. The ghost was later seen inside its Boo Cap while its Boo Energy was being transferred to the device, which Fury used to weaken Scream Scratch.
In "Dinozos", Freezofear was used as ammo for the Ghost Car so the team could freeze Dinozos's jaws and capture it. Throughout the mission, Freezofear was seen sleeping at the back.
Abilities[]
- Flight: Freezofear can only fly in its kawai mode. However, in its merged form, Bananice can only jump, slide, and climb.
- Intangibility: Freezofear can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps. However, in its merged form, Bananice can stand on solid ground. Every time it phases through solid objects, it leaves ice crystals behind; Freezofear can create frosts, while Bananice can create giant clusters of ice.
- Boo Energ-Iced: Unlike most merger ghosts, Freezofear doesn't need to ingest people's fear before finding a receptacle to merge. Instead, it can convert cryogenized proteins into Boo Energy after ingesting them. The only receptacle it was seen ingested was a Bananice popsicle.
- Ice Cube Creation: As demonstrated when it briefly hid inside a flask filled with chemical liquid, Freezofear can create tiny ice cubes from its breath while immersing.
- Enhanced Strength: As Bananice, it can lift heavy objects with its bare hands. It demonstrated this ability by lifting a Bananice delivery truck from the back.
- Ice-Scream: In its kawai form, Freezofear can freeze living beings by phasing through them. In its booster mode, Bananice gains banana-flavored ice breath that will freeze entire areas. However, a strong amount of heat source can melt the ghost's effect.
- Banana-Scoops: As Bananice, it can shoot banana ice-cream scoops projectile from its hand.
- Bananice-Age: Once Bananice is capped on Boo Energy, it can shoot an icy beam from its head that would transform the sky into a potent ice storm. This would quickly lower the temperature and send its surroundings into a new ice age.
- Ice-Capade: As Bananice, it can leave a sheet of ice under its feet wherever it goes. This allows it to increase its speed and to dodge incoming attacks.

Trivia[]

An early design for Freezofear by David François.
- An early design for Freezofear was created by David François in around 2018.[1]
- Freezofear's name is a play on "freeze of fear".
- Its boosted form is named after a brand of banana popsicles that were sold at Roland's Ghost Dog.
- The official Ghostforce website revealed that Freezofear is from an uncommon specimen.[4]
- There are two Freezofears within the specimen that appeared in the opening sequence; one being in its kawai mode and the other being Bananice.
- Freezofear, Growmax, Prehistorrible, and Freakking are the only specimens whose powers are related to ice.
- Freezofear, Spong, Mikroo, and Droplet are the only known ghosts who were asleep inside a container that they used as a nest.
- Freezofear, Spong, Droplet, and Arak are currently the only known ghost specimens without requiring to ingest people's fear before finding a receptacle to merge with.
- Freezofear and Arak are also the only ones who are seen ingesting human food before they can boosted into its merged form.
- After being weakened back to its kawai form, Freezofear has two bananas circling its head similar to a cartoon representation of "seeing stars".
- A silhouette of Bananice was seen in "Kaboom" as one of the ghosts that the team can select to fight in a training session. Because Freezofear must ingest a Bananice popsicle to boost, it implied that Miss Jones will feed the ghost with one every time the team wants to fight it.
