Reason: Missing information about Mikroo from the comic story. The French release of the eighth issue featured an adaptation of "Scream Scratch" that might include information about the titular ghost's cycle level and family. The exact German release date for the issues is missing.

Ghostforce is a German magazine series published by Blue Ocean Entertainment. It was released to coincide with the premiere of the television series of the same name in Germany.[1]

Series overview[]

No more ghosts! In the official magazine for the TV series of the same name, the GHOSTFORCE team goes ghost hunting. Every six weeks, young readers experience new and exclusive comic adventures in which the heroes Fury, Myst, and Krush catch ghosts and thereby save the citizens of New York. Each issue also contains a cool comic, exciting puzzles, games, and information about the nuisance ghosts from the series. Of course, each issue also includes an extra that fits the series.

Trivia[]

  • As of 2024, the magazine series is only available in Germany, France, and the Czech Republic.
    • The Czech Republic began releasing the magazine series starting on May 16, 2024.[12]
  • The first three issues are currently the only ones that feature original comic stories.
    • While it's currently unconfirmed if the comics are canon to the TV series, they take place after the events of Season 1.
    • The TV series established that every single ghost is part of a specimen, so the comics feature a ghost that is a relative of a Season 1 ghost. For example, there is a story about a Batata who was awakened from its vampire doll packaging nest and terrorized the Manhattanites during a comic book convention. That ghost isn't the same Batata from the episode of the same name, but the Ghostforce all recognized it since Liv shouted, "Oh, no! A Batata!".
    • Because the featured ghosts in the comic stories aren't the same as the ones from the TV series, the magazine revealed that they have a different cycle level.
      • Comic Batata's cycle level is 7, while its relative from the TV series is between 2 and 6.
      • Comic Droplet's cycle level is 6, while its relative from the TV series is Level 7.[13]
  • Because the fourth to eighth issues contain comic adaptations, the information page revealed the cycle level of some featured ghosts that weren't mentioned in the television series:
    • Jellystery's cycle level is 4. This information is accurate since it's the same cycle level mentioned on its character biography from the official Ghostforce website.
    • Bubble-Brush's cycle level is 6.
  • The comic stories were all illustrated by Moisés Rodriguez Marco.[14]
  • In the French release of the magazine, it skipped the comic adaptation of "Jellystery". As a result, the eighth issue featured an adaptation of "Scream Scratch". However, "Jellystery" was later released as part of a special edition issue.

Errors[]

  • In the eighth issue for the German release, Bubble-Brush is mislabeled as a spectral ghost instead of a flexible ghost on its information page.
  • The magazine would often mix up a merger ghost's kawai name with its booster name. For example, Droplet was called by its relative's booster name "Mizuo" despite it never merging with any water tank in its comic story.
  • For some reason, the first four issues mislabeled the "element" for the featured ghosts. The rest of the series would have a ghost's element be a symbol from the ghost families system.
