Ghostforce Wiki
This article is about the superhero team. You may be looking for another Ghostforce.

The Ghostforce is the titular main protagonistic faction of Ghostforce. They are an American team of ghost hunters and superheroes based in Manhattan, New York City. Their mission is to capture every ghosts that is wreaking havoc in the city and protect the citizens from their attacks.

Members[]

  • Miss Jones: A scientist who co-founded the Ghostforce. She was originally a human before she transformed into a half-ghost by an unidentified chaos-type ghost "with multiple powers".[1] She currently serves as the team's mission control and mentor figure because she can't leave the underground laboratory without the risk of her chaotic powers catching Nolan Kasenti's attention. She also builds various Boo Technology gadgets and weapons to help the kids and Glowboo during their missions.
  • Liv Baker/Myst: A preteen girl who serves as the de facto leader for the second iteration of the Ghostforce. She owns a pink medallion fueled by Octocat's Boo Energy that gives her spectral powers. In combat, Myst wields the Spectral Bow.
  • Andy Baker/Fury: A teenage boy who serves as the "go-getter" for the team. He owns a green medallion fueled by Dragoyle's Boo Energy that gives him flexible powers. In combat, Fury wields the Flexy Beam.
  • Mike Collins/Krush: A preteen boy who serves as the team's strategist. He owns a blue medallion fueled by Growmax's Boo Energy that gives him fractal powers. In combat, Krush wields the Fractal Mace.
  • Glowboo: An artificial intelligence that is placed inside an orange Ghostforce armor and serves as the Ghostforce's reinforcement. He was designed by Carpenter and built by Miss Jones to be the fourth member of the current iteration of the team. His armor has an orange medallion fueled by Solarboo's Boo Energy that gives him solar powers.

Inactive members[]

  • Carpenter: Miss Jones's partner, and the co-founder of the Ghostforce. He is currently captured by an unidentified chaos-type ghost "with multiple powers".[1] With the possible exception of Liv, none of the members from the second iteration of the Ghostforce are aware of his existence and only heard of him as an "old friend" of Miss Jones. He is also the designer of Glowboo and has created various notes about the AI's features that Miss Jones and Mike are both currently deciphering.

Allies[]

  • Tamed ghosts: A group of five ghosts who are tamed by Miss Jones to help the Ghostforce and be their loyal companions.
    • Glups: A Level 8 viscous ghost who befriended Miss Jones shortly after she became a half-ghost and is now living with her in the underground laboratory.
    • Growmax: A fractal ghost who provides Boo Energy for Mike's medallion.
    • Dragoyle: A flexible ghost who provides Boo Energy for Andy's medallion.
    • Octocat: A spectral ghost who provides Boo Energy for Liv's medallion.
    • Solarboo: A ghost who provides Boo Energy for Glowboo's medallion.
  • Professor Pascal's class: Students taught by Professor Pascal in the same class as the main trio at the NYC school. They would sometimes help the team during their mission, such as "Mizuo" and "Jam Jam".
  • Roland: The owner of the Ghost Dog that the kids frequently visits. In "Dinozos", he aided the team by giving Myst a Dino Dog to distract the titular ghost.

Enemies[]

  • Ghosts: An extraterrestrial species that is currently haunting Manhattan. The Ghostforce's mission is to capture every single wild ghost that is awakened in the borough and prevent them from spreading their attacks to the rest of the city. Any ghosts that are captured would be sent to the Ghost Cloud in the lab where they would calm down and someday be tamed. Miss Jones keeps a large database on her computer about each ghost, but more specimens haven't been discovered yet.
    • Unnamed chaos-type ghost: Out of all the wild ghosts, this is the one Miss Jones is currently searching for the most. The original Ghostforce encountered this unnamed ghost during their run-in with Mr. Kasenti, leading to Carpenter's disappearance and Miss Jones becoming a half-ghost. Because it has reached peak fear after the incident, Miss Jones's current mission is to someday find this ghost so she can bring back Carpenter and restore her humanity.
  • KassKorp Industry: A large tech company that has a secret motive against the Ghostforce.
    • Nolan Kasenti: The president and founder of KassKorp Industry. Mr. Kasenti was the person responsible for Carpenter's disappearance and Miss Jones becoming a half-ghost, leading to the disbandment of the original team. As of the events of "Panikokado", he has collected data on the second iteration of the Ghostforce and is about to initiate the next phase of his plan.
    • Mr. Vladovsky: Mr. Kasenti's loyal servant who collects ghost nests for his master. The Ghostforce is currently unaware of Mr. Vladovsky's involvement with the company since the kids only recognize him as the principal of the NYC school.

History[]

Pre-Season 1[]

While the series didn't reveal the entire backstory of the Ghostforce yet, it's presumed that the team was formed after Miss Jones and Carpenter both discovered the existence of ghosts during their undergraduate study. Together, they invented various Boo Technology gadgets that are fueled by Boo Energy and capture every single ghost they have encountered. They also built a secret hideout underneath a middle school in Manhattan where they would store the ghosts inside the Ghost Cloud. The original Ghostforce had been active for many years, but they were hoping to someday tame all the ghosts so that one day the entire species could live in harmony and not use their powers to terrorize human beings.

One faithful day, the duo was on a mission to hunt an unidentified chaos-type ghost when they had a run-in with Nolan Kasenti, the president and founder of KassKorp Industry. While the detail about the encounter is unclear, Mr. Kasenti was somehow involved with Carpenter's capture by the chaos-type ghost and Miss Jones's transformation into a half-ghost after her human DNA was accidentally fused with Boo Energy. Following the chaos-type ghost hibernate reaching peak fear, Miss Jones was forced to hide from Mr. Kasenti by isolating herself in the underground headquarters, which she now uses as a laboratory. She also found a viscous ghost on the same day of Carpenter's vanishment and named him Glups. However, with the loss of her partner and her physical state preventing her from fighting ghosts, the Ghostforce was disbanded.[1]

Season 1[]

While "Origins" haven't been released yet, three middle school students — Andy Baker, Liv Baker, and Mike Collins — eventually met Miss Jones and convinced her to let them replace her as the new members of the Ghostforce when Manhattan became haunted again. The kids were then each given a medallion and an accompanying tamed ghost that can allow them to transform; Andy is the go-getter Fury, Mike is the strategist Krush, and Liv is the de-facto leader Myst.

Mikroo 268

Since then, the team continues to hunt ghosts every time there is an alert from Boo Map about their awakening. While there are ghosts that are difficult to capture and/or recently discovered by the team, the kids always manage to identify their weaknesses and find a way to successfully beat them. The heroes would then send the captive ghost(s) to the Ghost Cloud where it can calm them down before adding the information to the lab's database.

Cyclopee 280

As of "Raijin", the team has a new member in the form of Glowboo, an artificial intelligence installed in a Ghostforce armor that allows him to run on Boo Energy. The AI was designed by Carpenter who wrote multiple notes about Glowboo's features many years before the former's vanishment by the chaos-type ghost. However, the notes are all written in code and are difficult to decipher. After the events of "Somnibou", Mike and Miss Jones are now working together to decode the notes to potentially unlock the rest of Glowboo's features.

Biballoon 252

The Ghostforce's heroic deeds lead to the general population of New York City recognizing and appreciating them for always being there to protect from the ghost attacks. Some notable events include the invention of the Ghost Car in "Jellystery", the main trio's classmates almost discover their secret identities in "Gumglue", Myst revealing during a live television broadcast in "Biballoon" that the team has been domesticating ghosts, and Glups briefly reverted to a wild ghost after he accidentally escaped the lab in "Jellyjack". However, because of Miss Jones's paranoia and living in fear that Mr. Kasenti might someday find her, the second iteration of the Ghostforce is never informed about the incident that caused her to become a half-ghost. As a result, they have no idea about Carpenter's existence (who was only described as "an old friend of [Miss Jones]") and Mr. Kasenti's involvement despite the latter being currently a major public figure in New York City.

Specials[]

Things began to change for the team in "Grump King". On the night of October 30th, a ghost from the early 1700s — who was later named Grump King — awakened and terrorized Manhattan by transforming various people into Halloween creatures and casting illusions of their worst fears. Fury ended up losing Krush, Myst, and Glowboo because of how powerful the ghost was. While he was in mid-air, one of Grump King's thorns pulled the medallion off his chest and caused him to fall from the sky. This immediately led to Miss Jones leaving the lab for the first time in years and driving the Ghost Car to rescue him. However, while Andy and Glups went to the sewers to retrieve the medallion, a citizen noticed the Ghost Car flying at night and took a picture of it. That picture was later featured in a television broadcast shortly after the Ghostforce captured Grump King, leading to Mr. Kasenti realizing that Miss Jones is currently hiding in Manhattan.

Not knowing that KassKorp Industry was going to take down the Ghostforce and trying to locate Miss Jones's whereabouts, Mike participated in the company's Best Engineer competition. He was later announced the winner in "Panikokado" and was rewarded the company's then-upcoming tablet on Christmas. Thanks to Mr. Kasenti's manipulation where Mike falsely believed his father was too busy to spend the holiday with him, the preteen boy was tricked into helping the Ghostforce's archenemy by fixing a program that allowed Mr. Kasenti to secretly launch camera drones to spy on the team during their fight against Panikokado. And because the kids are never given a warning from Miss Jones that they should avoid Mr. Kasenti, the Ghostforce is in danger now that he has obtained data on their Boo Technology.

Trivia[]

Team Ghostforce on a mission early concept art

One of the earliest costume designs for the team.

  • In pre-production, the Ghostforce was originally formed by a high school teacher named Professor Richenbach who recruited three of his students to become ghost hunters. However, the concept was scrapped, and the team was instead formed by two scientists before the events of the series.
    • The three kids were also originally depicted as high school students instead of middle school students.
    • Early pieces of concept art revealed that the team's costumes were originally going to be inspired by the Ghostbusters franchise.
  • As revealed on the official Ghostforce website, there is a lack of interest in Miss Jones and Carpenter among the general population. This leads to Liv wanting to put the team in the pantheon of superheroes and get Miss Jones the recognition she deserves.[1] Despite this, various people have done things to show recognition and appreciation towards the current iteration of the Ghostforce:
    • Charlie is the founder of the Ghost Blog where she posts content related to the team.
    • In some episodes, a citizen can be seen waving a banner that has chibi designs of the main trio after the team successfully captured a ghost.
    • In "Chronoklok", two kids created a graffiti artwork of the main trio.
    • There are official action figures of the main trio, as revealed in "Agia".
    • The Ghost Dog added the Ghostforce hot dog on its menu as of "Mascarade".
    • Myst earned a Medal of Honor in "Biballoon", which she shared with the rest of the team.
    • In "Prehistorrible", the author of Carla's favorite comic book series was willing to sign a boxset after the session was over because he's a huge fan of Fury.
    • In the comic story "Batata", a few convention attendees cosplayed as the Ghostforce members.
    • A flashback in "Cactinetik" revealed that Drake Miller created a drawing of Fury.
  • "Grump King" revealed that the Ghostforce isn't the first and only known ghosthunter in the world. In the early 1700s, two British colonists discovered the existence of ghosts and once buried Grump King's nest within what would become present-day Central Park.
  • Each member of the team has been affected by a wild ghost's powers at some point in the series.
  • Near every single Boo Technology weapons and gadgets have the Ghostforce emblem on them.
  • The codenames that the three kids are using for their superhero identities have the same number of syllables as their civilian names.
  • It is currently unknown if Miss Jones and Carpenter used a codename during their time as superheroes.
  • "Scorpod" marks the first time that the second iteration of the Ghostforce has ever lost a battle against a ghost.
  • Myst described the Ghostforce as a family in "Panikokado", to which the rest of the team happily agreed.
