Ghostforce Wiki

Hi, Liv! We've got a new ghost to capture!

Miss Jones, "Prehistorrible"

Ghostphones[1] are four Boo Technology gadgets invented by Miss Jones for the Ghostforce. They are communication devices that allow the team to have direct contact with each other in their civilian identities.

Whenever Andy Baker, Liv Baker, and Mike Collins encountered a recently awakened ghost causing havoc in Manhattan, they would often call Miss Jones via one of their ghostphones so she can provide them information about said ghost specimen.

On special occasions, Miss Jones would call the kids and tell them to visit the underground laboratory for any important team meeting.

Appearances[]

The ghostphones are designed in the style of compact mirrors and are in the shape of the Ghostforce medallions. While it's unknown what materials they were made from, the ghostphones are darkish-gray with the Ghostforce emblem.

The four ghostphones were invented for a specific member of the Ghostforce, with each device having color-coded edges and touchpads. Andy's is green; Liv's is pink; Mike's is blue; and Miss Jones's is purple.

Features[]

  • Video Calls: Each ghostphones have a built-in microphone, loudspeaker, and front camera for the users to make any video calls. Whenever there is an incoming call from someone, the ghostphones would start ringing on vibrate and the edges would glow brightly. The user can reject a call by pressing on the top of the device. However, the ghostphones seem to rely on a cellular network for signal. In "Grump King", Andy was on a call with Miss Jones while he was in the sewers before the ghostphone lost signal a few seconds later.
  • Boo Energy Analyzer: The ghostphones can allow the team to send Boo Energy samples to Miss Jones so she can analyze them from her lab. They would use the syringe to collect the sample and place it onto the touchpad. Once the analysis is completed, the data will appear on the call screen.
  • Charging Screen: As revealed in "Dinozos", the ghostphones are connected to the Boo Energy recharging station in the lab. Whenever the Ghostforce medallions are currently charging, the screens of the ghostphones would display a red battery icon followed by a picture of a tamed ghost with an arrow pointing at the medallion.

Trivia[]

Dinozos 009

Liv's ghostphone letting her know that her medallion is charging in the lab.

  • The ghostphones were originally going to be called the detectoghosts.[2]
  • The name "ghostphones" is a subtle pun on the term ghost call, a telephone call where no one is heard on the other end despite the recipient answering it.
  • The ghostphones being mobile phones styled after compact mirrors are likely inspired by the compowders from Totally Spies.
  • Because Miss Jones is secretly hiding from Nolan Kasenti, one of the possible reasons she wants the kids to only use ghostphones to reach her instead of their regular phones is to prevent the risk of him tracking her location.
  • The kids only use their ghostphones in their civilian identities to call Miss Jones. They don't need to use them when they are in their superhero identities due to their armors already having built-in comm-links.
    • Glowboo is the only member of the team who doesn't own a ghostphone due to being an artificial intelligence inserted into a Ghostforce armor.
    • In "Mikroo", Krush calls Miss Jones with his ghostphone as part of his plan to scare the titular ghost by tricking it into thinking there's a dinosaur in the NYC school library.
  • Whenever the kids are about to get on a call, they must find a hiding place to prevent anyone from overhearing their conversation and recognize the ghostphone as a communication device belonging to the Ghostforce.
    • In "Swip Swap", Mike and his father swapped bodies because of the titular ghosts, leading to Mr. Collins discovered his son's ghostphone and curiously asked what it was. Mike claimed it was a new burner phone that he recently purchased. He seems to be telling a half-truth since none of the ghostphones has a texting feature.
  • While Miss Jones uses her ghostphone to contact the team, she often switches the camera to the one used on the console interface whenever she must relay information about a ghost specimen.
  • "Panikokado" is currently the only episode where a member of the Ghostforce got separated from their ghostphone. Mike accidentally left both his regular cellphone and his ghostphone at home because he went with Nolan Kasenti to the Kasenti Tower.
