Miss Jones, "Mastaar"

Mastaar is a Level 7 wild ghost from the spectral family.

In "Mastaar", it was awakened from its nest after Drake Miller strummed on the ukulele strings.

Appearance[]

Kawai mode[]

Mastaar is a pinkish-purple ghost with bright pink eyes, dark heliotrope sclerae, a dark pink tongue, and two bottom fangs. It has four limbs that each have two dark heliotrope claws. Its body has multiple dark heliotrope spikes on its back.

Booster mode[]

Mastaar has a large mane on its head, a goatee, eight fangs, and a long tail in its booster mode. It has two large spotlights on its back that it would use to attack its enemies.

Abilities[]

  • Flight: Mastaar can only fly in both its kawai and booster modes.
  • Intangibility: Mastaar can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.
  • Sing-A-Boo: Mastaar's singing can release short-ranged mesmerizing waves that will hypnotize anyone listening to it.
  • Boo Star: Unlike other ghosts who ingest people's fears, Mastaar feeds on the adoration of its victims who were mesmerized by its Sing-A-Boo ability. This allows it to convert their adoration into Boo Energy to switch to booster mode.
  • Tempestagenesis: Mastaar can cause the sky to be covered in spectral stormy clouds.
  • Bootalika: In its booster mode, Mastaar becomes capable of playing a musical instrument. Its performance can allow the ghost to mesmerize more people at long-range.
  • Musical Invocation: In its booster mode, Mastaar can convoke a musical instrument made out of pure concentrated Boo Energy for its Bootalika attack. The only musical instrument it was seen creating was an electric guitar.
  • Spooklights: Once capped on Boo Energy, Mastaar can fire immobilizing rays from the spotlights on its back. The spotlights can transform anyone trying to overshadow it into a statue.

Trivia[]

  • Mastaar's name is a portmanteau of the English words "master" and "star". "Master" can refer to the ghost being able to hypnotize its victims into becoming its loyal fans, while "star" applies to its musical ability.
  • In some official media, the ghost's name is misspelled as either "Maastar" or "Mastarr".
  • The official Ghostforce website revealed that Mastaar is from a rare specimen.[1]
    • There are two Mastaars within the specimen that appeared near the end of the opening sequence; one being in its kawai mode and the other being in booster mode.
    • Miss Jones mentioned that she once caught another member of its specimen during her time as an active member of the Ghostforce.
  • Mastaar's ability to put people under its trance mirrors how an audience would chant the name of their favorite musician(s) during a concert.
  • Mastaar is one of the few ghosts that doesn't require to ingest people's fear before switching to booster mode.
  • Mastaar, Zipzap, Xhypno, and Chaorion are the only known ghosts that already have an established name within their specimen. The reason is that each of these four ghost specimens can hypnotize its victims into chanting its name out loud.
  • Mastaar and Hypnolion both share the same face design in their booster modes. Since they are both from the spectral family and have hypnotic powers, this indicates their specimens are closely related.
