Ghostforce Wiki

Aah! There's no sweeter pleasure than confiscating a student's toy.

—Mr. Vladovsky, "Batata"

Mr. Vladovsky is a major antagonist of Ghostforce, serving as the secondary antagonist of Season 1.

He is the principal of the NYC school in Manhattan, New York City. However, he is also secretly Nolan Kasenti's loyal servant and obediently assists his master with an unknown plan related to the Ghostforce.

Appearance[]

Mr. Vladovsky is a tall figure who is slim and lanky. His hair is black with various gray streaks that are styled back into a single point. He also has blue eyes, a small mustache, and a large nose that's pointed downwards. Strangely, he has purple skin and pointy ears.

As the school principal, Mr. Vladovsky is dressed in professional business attire. He wears a red plaid-patterned v-neck sweater underneath a white polo shirt and a black tie. The rest of his outfit consisted of a black jacket, black trousers, and a pair of black dress shoes. He also wears rounded eyeglasses that are somehow placed neatly on his pointed ears.

Personality[]

Mr. Vladovsky is a strict, cold, intimidating, and openly mean principal of the school. He expects all students to follow the school rules and has no problem handing out detentions if he catches them in the hallways for such the slightest wrongdoing. Because of his reputation, every student in the school is deeply afraid of him since he would always confiscate their belongings as part of their punishment and sometimes threaten them that he would call their parents to retrieve said item after school.

He is also quite a narcissistic individual. At the school, he would place paintings and bust sculptures of himself in the library and his office. However, it can also be interpreted that the paintings and bust sculptures are placed there to both frighten and remind the students that they should not cross him since he might watch their every move.

Since Mr. Vladovsky is revealed to be secretly working for Mr. Kasenti, all his actions and behavior are being put in a new light. Despite his constantly confiscating personal belongings from his students and creating a massive horde in a safe that's hidden behind one of his paintings, it's heavily implied the motivation behind his confiscations is to collect various items so he can identify a ghost nest for Mr. Kasenti's plans. So far, he managed to get his hands on the nests belonging to Pharaok, Cyclopee, and Batata in his office before their eventual awakenings.

With knowledge of ghosts, while serving Mr. Kasenti, Mr. Vladovsky is completely unfazed by them whenever he encounters one running loose in Manhattan after it was awakened from its nest. As demonstrated in both "Graffurious" and "Kaboom", he would silently stare at a ghost as a form of intimidation so it won't feed on his fear. However, he isn't ignorant about the dangers some ghosts would pose in Manhattan if they had powers that could either hypnotize or transform their victims. In "Pharaok", he wasn't present in his office during the titular ghost's awakening because he went into hiding to avoid getting forcibly transformed into a mummy by it. He also understands that he must be careful with handling objects that are ghost nests whenever he collects them in his office to avoid the risk of accidentally awakening a ghost. For instance, in "Batata", he managed to catch a crystal ball before it shattered on the floor since he knew it was the titular ghost's nest. However, Mr. Vladovsky isn't always careful since there are rare occasions, like "Kaboom", where he accidentally releases a ghost without checking if the object he's holding is a nest.

Abilities[]

  • Vapor Manipulation: Mr. Vladovsky has a mysterious ability to clear fogs when his eyes glow brightly. This ability is first seen in "Panikokado".

History[]

Pre-Season 1[]

At some point, Mr. Vladovsky began working for Nolan Kasenti where he learned about the existence of ghosts and how he should identify a ghost nest.

Season 1[]

In "Pharaok", Mr. Vladovsky caught Mike Collins in the hallways during class while wearing the Mask of Pharases II that belonged to his father. He immediately confiscated the mask from Mike, threatening the student that he would call the latter's father to pick it up from his office. After placing the mask in his office, Mr. Vladovsky presumably recognized the mask as Pharaok's nest. So, he immediately left his office and went into hiding before the ghost launched a giant heatwave across the entire city. Following Pharaok's capture by the Ghostforce, Andy Baker sneaked back into Mr. Vladovsky's office and stole the mask back when the principal wasn't there.

In "Krik-Krok", Mr. Vladovsky was writing something in his journal when he heard Andy opening his office door. When he went to investigate the noise in front of his door, Andy immediately left before the principal could catch him. Following Krik-Krok's capture by the Ghostforce, Mr. Vladovsky caught Andy dribbling his basketball in the hallways.

In "Cyclopee", Mr. Vladovsky punished Drake Miller for littering in the school corridor by forcing the student to clean up his office. When he returned to his office to check on Drake after Cyclopee's capture by the Ghostforce, Mr. Vladovsky caught him lying on the floor and screaming in fear. Based on his unamused expression, the principal figured out Drake released the ghost from the mirror that he kept in his office.

In "Creepop", Mr. Vladovsky chaperoned the end of the school semester dance at the library and was bewildered by Professor Pascal's dancing skills.

In "Graffurious", Mr. Vladovsky took Professor Pascal's class on a field trip to the KassKorp Industry office building. He was using his umbrella to cover himself from the sunlight when a large gust of wind suddenly blew him away. Once he finally caught up with his students, he was angry when he saw someone had vandalized his master's building and demanded to know who was responsible for it. When Drake blamed Liv Baker for the crime, Mr. Vladovsky mentioned that he "should have known a Baker did this". However, before Liv got falsely arrested by Tim Callaghan, a ghost named Breathrill suddenly arrived and terrorized everyone outside the building. Mr. Vladovsky wasn't afraid of the ghost and stayed behind, presumably under Mr. Kasenti's order to not intervene. Callaghan attempted to defeat the ghost by spray painting it with no avail, much to Mr. Vladovsky's bewilderment since the police's foolish action caused the ghost to merged with the spray can to became Graffurious. While the Ghostforce was dealing with the merger ghost, Mr. Vladovsky presumably headed to Mr. Kasenti's office for a meeting with his master.

In "Batata", Mr. Vladovsky had confiscated another toy that belonged to his student. After placing said toy inside a safe, he was about to leave his office when his hand accidentally knocked over a crystal ball off its stand and it started rolling off his desk. He quickly took notice and managed to catch the crystal ball before it fell to the ground, knowing that it was a nest for Batata, and he didn't want the risk of himself being turned into a bat if the ghost got awakened. Following Batata's capture by the Ghostforce, Mr. Vladovsky learned that someone had sneaked into his private office and accidentally shattered the nest that released the ghost. He demanded his students to tell him who was responsible for it, which Mike confessed, and as punishment, he was forced to clean up the bathrooms for two hours.

In "Kaboom", Mr. Vladovsky caught Stacy and Jane attempting to prank Rajat with a cake in the hallways. He confiscated the cake and put out a firecracker that the twins used as a candle for their prank. However, he made the mistake of not checking if the firecracker was a nest and accidentally awakened a ghost named Kaboom. When the ghost caused the cake to explode in front of him, Mr. Vladovsky was upset for impulsively releasing it.

Specials[]

In "Panikokado", Mr. Vladovsky met up with Mr. Kasenti near the Brooklyn Bridge on the day before Christmas. He gave his master a box containing a long ribbon that is Paniko's nest for Mr. Kasenti's plan to collect intel on the Ghostforce on Christmas night. The next day, he grumpily watched the students all leave the school building to celebrate the holiday.

Relationships[]

Nolan Kasenti[]

Despite it's unknown how Mr. Vladovsky met Mr. Kasenti, it is estimated that the former has been obediently serving his master for at least a year.

In "Panikokado", he helped his master with his plan by retrieving a ghost nest for a ribbon-cutting ceremony that's held at Times Square on the night of Christmas Eve.

Professor Pascal[]

Mr. Vladovsky doesn't have a positive opinion of his employee Professor Pascal. According to the official Ghostforce website, neither of them get along with each other because they have "completely different visions of the world" and how they should educate their students. Mr. Vladovsky, in particular, would demand Professor Pascal to clean up his classroom because he always finds it messy, especially since the teacher always brings his dog Asta to school.[2]

In "Creepop", Mr. Vladovsky was weirded out by Professor Pascal's dancing when the two men chaperoned for the school dance at the library.

Despite their conflict, Mr. Vladovsky once substituted Professor Pascal's class for their field trip to the KassKorp Industry office building in "Graffurious".

Trivia[]

  • There are a few clues in Season 1 that foreshadow Mr. Vladovsky's secret alliance with Mr. Kassenti and his knowledge of ghosts:
    • He confiscated the Mask of Pharases II from Mike in "Pharaok". Said ancient artifact is later revealed to be a nest for the titular ghost, so Mr. Vladovsky must have taken the mask after realizing that it has Pharaok inside.
    • It's heavily implied in "Creepop" that he planted the titular ghost's nest in the storage office of the school when the students were planning for the end-of-the-school-semester dance at the library.
    • He took Professor Pascal's class on a field trip to the KassKorp Industry office building in "Graffurious", presumably so he could sneak off to a secret meeting with his master.
    • In "Batata", his desk has two books with the KassKorp Industry logo on the spine.
  • As revealed in the animatic for "Pharaok", Mr. Vladovsky originally didn't have an alignment with Mr. Kasenti during the early production of the series. After Pharaok's awakening, he was supposed to be the ghost's first victim since he didn't leave his office right when it was awakened. Later, Mr. Vladovsky was going to be merciful by willingly returning the mask to Mike without questioning because he was "freaked out" by getting mummified by Pharaok.
  • Mr. Vladovsky's mannerisms are similar to that of a vampire. However, it's currently unconfirmed if he is an actual vampire, a person transformed into a vampire, or a normal human pretending to be a vampire to scare his students.
    • Whenever he's outside on a sunny day, he would use an umbrella to cover himself. The belief that vampires are weakened by sunlight was first popularized by Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
    • The official Ghostforce website played with the idea by mentioning the possibility of him allergic to garlic and having a weird obsession with bats. In central European folk beliefs, garlic is said to be a powerful ward against vampires. Meanwhile, bats are commonly associated with vampires since they are carriers of rabies and would bite organic lifeforms similar to a vampire's desire to drink blood.[2]
      • Mr. Vladovsky once had a nest belonging to Batata, a bat-like ghost who can turn living beings into actual bats, in his office.
    • Every time Mr. Vladovsky appears or is angry at his students, the music playing in the background would be a gothic pipe organ.
    • He speaks in an Eastern European accent that sounds like he originated from Transylvania, Romania.
    • "Vladovsky" is a portmanteau of "Vlad" and "-ovsky". "Vlad" is a name commonly associated with Vlad the Impaler who served as the inspiration for Count Dracula. The surname suffix "-ovsky" originated in Eastern Europe meaning "of". This makes the meaning of his surname "son of Vlad".
    • His design is similar to Dracula, a scrapped character from the shelved Pixie Girl television series.
  • Mr. Vladovsky's physical appearance and non-vampire mannerisms are similar to Anton Ego from Ratatouille.
