Trivia[]

  • In the Romanian version, the episode is called "Rechinodzila" which is a reference to Godzilla.
  • This episode reveals that the name of the main trio's skateboarding classmate is Marlo.
  • When Marlo panicked that his classmates would see him holding the flower bouquet, he accidentally placed it in Liv's locker. Later, it's revealed that Marlo's locker is next to hers.
  • This is the first appearance of the interior of Liv's locker.
    • A poster on the locker door from the inside is a pink ghost playing guitar. This possibly foreshadows "Mastaar" where the main trio formed their band called the Boo Fighters.
  • According to Liv, when she notices the flower bouquet in her locker, her birthday was over "a few months ago". This foreshadows that Marlo's flower bouquet isn't meant for her but for his mother's birthday.
  • When Andy teases his sister for probably having a crush on Marlo, he calls her "Livlo" which is a portmanteau name for Liv and Marlo. Portmanteau names are commonly used in fandom to refer to the relationship (romantic or platonic) between two characters in TV shows and books.
  • It's revealed that Central Park is located right across the street from NYC school.
  • After the main trio notices Sharkoak getting out of the school and starts stinking everyone in his path, Mike complains about having another stinky ghost. Based on his comment, this episode takes place after "Trashotic" since the titular ghost also has the power to release a smelly odor.
    • This marks the second episode where Lower Manhattan gets stank because of a wild ghost. Just like with Trashotic, the only way to weaken the ghost is to repel it with a pleasant smell.
  • This is the first episode appearance of Glowboo, an artificial intelligence who is an ally to the main trio. However, because the episodes aren't written nor produced in chronological order, Glowboo's official introduction isn't seen until "Raijin".
    • In this episode, Miss Jones mentioned that she upgraded Glowboo.
  • While Miss Jones was gushing over Liv possibly having a crush on Marlo, she recalls her time going out on her first date at twenty-one. This is the first instance of her backstory being mentioned in the series.
    • The official Ghostforce website mentioned that Miss Jones used to have a partner named Carpenter, implying he's her first date.
  • This episode revealed there are multiple ghosts from the same ghost family. Sharkoak is a ghost from the Glutton family, but Miss Jones mentioned she already caught one of its family members in the past and that the ghost hadn't switched to booster mode when she caught it.
    • This indirectly confirmed that the Ghostforce members can capture a ghost before it switches to booster mode. However, there isn't any instance seen in the series where a ghost is captured before switching.
    • Miss Jones' comment indirectly revealed to the audience that she used to be an active member of the Ghostforce team before the series.
  • When Myst notices Marlo skateboarding away from the chaos in Times Square, his eyes are revealed to be brown.
  • This episode reveals that certain ghosts can feed on people's fear before switching to booster mode.
  • Before Sharkoak throws its harpoon weapon at Fury, a poster of Ladybug from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir can be seen behind it.
  • The episode revealed that each of the Ghostforce members' suits has headphones installed to communicate with one another whenever they split up.
  • This episode reveals Marlo's mother works at an office in Times Square.
  • While Fury and Krush are searching for something that smells pleasant to repel Sharkoak, Fury finds a Bananice popsicle in a taxi cab which is a reference to the episode "Bananice".
  • This is the first appearance of Myst's ghost companion Octocat.

Errors[]

  • Liv doesn't have her backpack in both scenes when talking to Marlo in the hallways. But when she and her friends all exit the school, she suddenly has her backpack on.
    • When Marlo accidentally places the bouquet in Liv's locker, her backpack can seen in there. However, the backpack disappears when Liv opens her locker and examines the bouquet.
  • When Marlo opens Liv's locker with the shark tooth necklace, it opens to the left. This is a mistake because Liv's locker door is supposed to be opened to the right which is correctly seen earlier.
  • Before the main trio transforms into their superhero alter ego, they wear their backpacks. However, the transformation sequence is reused from other episodes, so it doesn't feature their backpacks.
  • Roland's Ghost Dog stand is first seen at the school's front entrance where it was stank up by Sharkoak in its kawaï. However, the stand is later seen at Times Square and it's shown to no longer be affected.
  • Liv says the gesture between her and Marlo was a high five (implying the palms connected). However, they are fist-bumping, which is not normally called a high five.
  • Near the end of the episode when the trio exits the school, Bobby and Drake can be seen talking next to them. However, they both disappear in one scene when Liv explains to Andy and Mike the misunderstanding between her and Marlo.
