History[]

Throughout the series, the Statue of Liberty is mostly seen in the background as the setting primarily occurs in the borough of Manhattan.

Season 1[]

Piraniak 228

The Statue of Liberty being covered in yellow paint.

In "Piraniak", Fury crash-landed into the Statue of Liberty after he was knocked away by the titular ghost at Midtown Manhattan. He then used the statue as a bait to lure Piraniak by spraying it with yellow paint, tricking the ghost into thinking it was made of gold. The statue briefly got turned into dust while Piraniak was collecting it, but it couldn't get converted into doubloons since its copper material stunned the ghost instead. The statue quickly got restored to its original form following Piraniak's capture. However, because Fury was the one using the Ghost Painter, the Ghostforce must scrub the paint off the statue themselves before returning to Manhattan.

Bridge episodes[]

In "Rozamour", Myst briefly visited Liberty Island while she was under a hypnotic love spell by the titular ghost.

Trivia[]

Cyclopee 261

The Statue of Liberty "witnessing" Octocat's light blast engulfing Midtown Manhattan.

  • Because it is facing Manhattan, one can interpret the statue as a "spectator" to all the chaotic ghost attacks occurring throughout the series.
  • As of "Cyclopee", the Statue of Liberty would appear in repeated cutscenes if the Ghostforce deboosts a wild ghost at Times Square.
  • "Piraniak" was the first episode where the Statue of Liberty became a target for a ghost attack.
  • Interestingly, there hasn't been a single ghost awakened at Liberty Island in the series yet.
  • A pair of banner posters featuring the statue was seen during the 73rd Annual Central Park Festival in "Biballoon".
  • The Statue of Liberty is depicted in t-shirts worn by two background characters who are tourists.
